SHG Training on Record Keeping at Guchka
O C I Tumudibandha organized a one day training programme for the SHG members of “Maa Tarini”, Guchka and “Patamaha”, Srambuli at Guchka village. Out of 28 members, 25 of them took training on Record Keeping. Our Field Staff Mr. Ullash Ch. Muduli was the resource person for the training.
“Change”, “Change”, “Change is possible.” At the end of the day’s training, we felt and were convinced that the change is possible in the lives of the ordinary illiterate women of these villages. Last year we had training on rules and regulation of SHG for the same groups. Since then these women have made impressive improvement. This time they were able to speak and took active part in the training especially in group exercises which was not seen during the first training. So we believe the change is possible. Through today’s training, they seemed to have understood the need to have proper record keeping.
The SHGs contributed rice and Dal for the meals. The men folk helped them by preparing meals and then for the distribution.
The day ended with meals for all the participants and their children followed by a film show “Oko Sona” (Hidden Gold) produced by Dumka Jesuit province. The whole village was there for the film show. It has motivated them to imitate what other SHGs are doing in other part of the world.
We wish that these two SHG groups grow well in their venture.
Great initiative by OCI to bring change.
